School MUN in India

Most Indian delegates come through school MUN societies rather than individually. A functioning society changes outcomes dramatically — trained delegates, shared research, and group registration that cuts cost per student.

Starting a school MUN society

You need a faculty sponsor, a weekly slot, and about eight committed students. Run internal mock committees before attending anything external.

The fastest way to build competence is to run your own in-school MUN in term one and send a delegation externally in term two.

  • Faculty sponsor and a fixed weekly meeting.
  • Internal mock committee in the first term.
  • A shared research and position-paper library.
  • One external conference per term as the target.

Sending a delegation

Conferences price delegations lower per head than individual registrations. The MUN Factory applies tiered discounts from five delegates upward, which materially lowers the cost for a school contingent.

Coordinators should budget for registration, travel, accommodation and formal attire, and confirm chaperone requirements with the conference.

For teachers and coordinators

Ask the conference for committee background guides in advance and run one mock session against them. Delegates who have practised procedure once perform visibly better.

TMF publishes committee-wise delegate guides publicly so schools can prepare without needing to be on the circuit already.
