MUN Committees: Which One Should You Pick?
Committee choice shapes your entire conference more than agenda choice does. A large general assembly body rewards patience and drafting; a crisis committee rewards speed and improvisation; an Indian committee rewards political instinct.
United Nations committees
General Assembly bodies like DISEC and SOCHUM are large, slower and resolution-focused — the best place for a first conference.
ECOSOC and UNHRC are mid-sized and documentation-heavy. UNSC is small, fast and requires deep country knowledge because every speech is scrutinised.
