UNCSW
UN Commission on the Status of Women
Women's rights in the shadow of conflict and double standards.
The Agenda
Examining the Consequences of the Iran Conflict and Evaluating the Consistency of Major Powers in Applying International Law and Human Rights Standards on Women's Physical and Mental Health.
About the Committee
The Commission on the Status of Women is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women. Established in 1946 as a functional commission of ECOSOC, it develops global standards, monitors implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action, and recommends measures to advance women's rights worldwide.
This committee investigates how conflict, sanctions and selective application of international law shape the physical and mental health of women — moving from principle to accountability.
